In 2018, Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) had published its Local Industrial Strategy (LIS). With this important foundation in place, work was now needed to develop an updated marketing and branding strategy for Cumbria, playing out the key messages identified by the LIS as the County’s economic development imperatives going forward.
Against this background, Steer Economic Development was commissioned non-competitively to lead a workshop to develop Cumbria’s revised marketing proposition. Steer Economic Development prepared three frameworks to guide thinking and discussion on the day. These frameworks were used to check and challenge, enabling presentations delivered by Cumbria Tourism, Cumbria County Council, and LOCALiq, a specialist digital marking company.
The LEP subsequently used the day's output to develop an updated marketing and branding strategy.
