Steer Economic Development was appointed, noncompetitively, by Bruntwood Properties Ltd to offer objective advice on the likely market demand for the firm’s Science- and Technology-facing property product in Birmingham, Liverpool, and Leeds. The assignment was undertaken as part of Bruntwood’s ongoing work to develop its strategic route map for wider development.
The work, undertaken over a five-month period, reviewed extant research and data on the general trends in the UK market for S&T-related property, especially for start-ups, spin-outs, and scaling businesses focused on knowledge-centric activities. With this general background in place, we then probed more specifically for the particular market opportunities in Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool – all economies well known to Steer – to develop and fine-tune our advice is to what, where, and when the likely demand for Bruntwood’s property product was likely to present.
