New Toronto office supports net zero goals

Following the move of our London team to an office that is the UK’s first certified ‘Platinum Smart Building’, we are delighted to move another Steer team into a new office that offers higher sustainability credentials.

Last month, our colleagues in Toronto moved into a new high-rise office space at 40 University Avenue. Located in Toronto’s financial core, our new office has received BOMA BEST Certification, Canada’s largest environmental assessment and certification program for commercial buildings that recognizes excellence in energy and environmental management.

Moving to our new Toronto office also enables us to create better collaborative working environments for our colleagues and clients and supports our ambition to grow our team in the city.

“Our new office space shows our continued commitment to clients in Canada and reflects confidence in the team we’re building in Toronto while also focusing on our company’s wider commitment to sustainability,” said Alasdair Dawson, North American Regional Director for Steer. “Across North America, we’re thinking carefully about how to create spaces that help us work on problems together, think creatively and apply our expertise in different ways. Importantly, we recognize our international experience is valuable and can be amplified locally when we bring our people and clients together in spaces that enable creativity.”

Steer is now a Carbon Neutral company, and our move to new offices in Toronto forms part of our commitment to being a Net Zero Carbon company by 2025 and Near Zero Carbon by 2030 through less than 50% offsetting.

We look forward to welcoming clients, colleagues and new recruits to our new Toronto office soon and will celebrate our new space with an official opening in the coming months.
