Steer Davies Gleave strengthens its Board of Directors

Following a successful year, Steer is delighted to announce several internal appointments.

Following a successful year - having won a number of eminent awards, grown in new and exciting markets and worked with clients on many prestigious transportation projects - Steer Davies Gleave is delighted to announce several internal appointments.

The new roles include Hugh Jones becoming Chief Executive Officer, Steve Hewitt becoming Group Development and Operations Director, and Catherine Clark joining the Board of Directors as Finance Director. These new positions build upon the successes of the last year and further strengthen the Company as it continues to grow.

Hugh Jones: As Chief Executive Officer Hugh leads the Company and has overall accountability for its performance, the use of its assets, protection of the Company’s core values as well as the development and achievement of its strategic goals. Hugh joined the firm from London Underground in 1999. Early in his career he successfully led Steer Davies Gleave's transactions and strategy division, leading it to be amongst the most successful divisions of the business and was instrumental in the development of the company's capability in the provision of commercial advice to the transportation sector. Since then he has carried out joint CEO responsibilities alongside Steve Hewitt, overseeing SDG's growth.

Steve Hewitt:Steve's career in transport and consultancy spans more than 30 years. His experience includes high-level roles at Eurostar (Head of Strategic Planning) and Railtrack (Head of London Project Development) before joining Steer Davies Gleave in 2001. As Group Development and Operations Director Steve will lead and direct the Company's approach to achieving growth whilst ensuring that the capability of the Company is developed and employed to deliver both growth and excellent consultancy. He continues to work with clients to develop the business and deliver projects and, alongside Hugh Jones, will be responsible for the development of company strategy in conjunction with the Board.

Catherine Clark: Catherine joined the company in 2009. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG and has since gained 12 years of experience working in the Finance teams of global multi-national engineering and consulting companies for Tokyo Electron Europe Limited and Ricardo Plc. Catherine has been a member of the Company's senior leadership team since 2010 where she has led a range of business performance improvements as well as overseeing the Company's finance function. Catherine provides strategic financial and tax advice to the board and combines her financial and commercial understanding to work collaboratively with the business to support growth and high performance.
