Steer is pleased to announce the appointment of Eliana Palma Barleta as a Senior Consultant in our global Ports & Maritime team, further reinforcing our commitment to helping clients navigate the evolving challenges of global trade, port investments and operations, and maritime sustainability.
Eliana brings over a decade of experience across the United Nations system, academia, and the private sector, specialising in maritime logistics, port performance, and sustainability strategy. She has worked extensively with organisations including the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (UN-ECLAC), the World Bank, and the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).
Her recent work has included authoring a technical guidance to support Mediterranean countries under the Barcelona Convention and projects with a focus on port operations and governance, and logistics policy reviews for the UN-ECLAC. Eliana is also pursuing a PhD in Maritime Affairs at the University of Piraeus, with a research focus on sustainability incentives in the maritime industry.
